Perth Travel Blog Day 1

30 students including me were chosen to take part in the 5-day Immersion Program to Perth from 29 May to 02 June 2010. We flied off to Perth from Singapore Changi International Airport on 28th May 2010 mid night.

The next day, we reached Perth International Airport early morning at 6:25. After having our toilet break, we boarded the coach and started our first day city tour. The first destination that we were heading to was Fremantle, the port city of Perth. We had visited several attractions of the Fremantle city such as the Monumental Hill, Fishing Boat Harbour, weekend market, chocolate factory and Apricot Acres Fruit Orchard. The Monument Hill monument was being built to commemorate the 60,000 Australians killed during World War 1.

The Fishing Boat Harbour is a place where you can find many fishing boats and enjoy the local fresh fish and seafood dishes. We had our lunch here, we had the delicious Fish & Chips at one of the restaurant called ‘Sweetlips’.

The weekend market is a place where we can find an unusual range of items, from fresh fruit and produce, to jewellery and hand crafted local items. I had bought the unique recycle book stand and key chains for my father and younger brother. When on the way to the weekend market, we had passed by the Cappuccino Strip where you can find many new look café along the street.

Chocolate is my favorite, so when visiting to chocolate factory, I was very happy! I had learnt the process of making chocolate. At the chocolate factory, we could taste their chocolate for free! And, the best of all was, we could take as much as we want!At the Apricot Acres Fruit Orchard, we could find orange and apricot trees which I never seen before.

After visiting the Apricot Acres Fruit Orchard, we proceeded to Orchard Glory Farm to check-in and rest. In each room, there are two beds and each bed has an electric blanket. The electric blanket provides warmth for us during the night when we are sleeping.
